At Folkestone Camera Club we're committed to protecting your privacy so you can feel confident sharing with your information. To reflect the new standards established by the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we've updated our Data Protection Information


  • When joining or rejoining the Club at the start of each season, and completing our membership form, your details are then retained in a Password protected folder, online, held at present, by an Officer of the Club, and this may be shared with the Treasurer and other Committee members for contact purposes. If a member does not rejoin, the following season, these details are deleted.
  • We use Mailchimp to send bulk emails.  Mailchimp Privicy Policy

Findlay Design t/a Camera Club Websites who takes security seriously. In order to protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. We have added an SSL certificate to the domain, to increase security.

  • When you join the club, you are invited to have access to the website and give your full name and email address, which can then be viewed by other members and is necessary to enable you to enter competitions.
  • The Club Website,, is divided into Public and Private sections with only names, distinctions and email addresses, available to fellow paid up members, in the Private area.
  • Website account data including website comments and competition entries is stored on the website indefinitely and until request for deletion. To maintain the flow of conversation and competition results comments and image scores may not be deleted on request, but all personally identifying information will be removed.
  • Additionally your email and name is used to populate league tables. This data is kept on a separate computer which is password protected.
  • We also take a register of attendance firstly in case of fire and also for analysis of numbers of members attending.The sheets are destroyed at the end of a season.
  • Competition winners, award winners and other participant’s names do appear on the Public area of the website as they constitute the Club’s Competition records and history.
  • Members names and qualifications will be shared with other Clubs in the case of a Battle or Inter-club Competition or the KCPA for external competitions. A list of entries will be published before each competition and if any member wants to remain anonymous they should inform an Officer of our Club.
  • No information retained by Folkestone Camera Club is passed onto a third party (Other than those noted previously)
