I have to admit to being very confused by the theme of round 5 in relation to the Print and Mono sections ..... ????!!!

Am I correct in thinking that there will only be two Print and Mono PDI competitions ( nos 1 & 4 ) WITHOUT a Theme and three Open & Critique PDI competitions ( nos 2,3,5 ) WITHOUT a Theme? All other competitions are therefore Themed. Is that right please. Thank you in advance.

Simon, just replied via a Bulletin hope that clarifies things Re themes.

Ok thank you in Northampton in a field of Gypsy horses and events so feathers and delicate not top of my agenda!

What's wrong with delicate , feathers, furry, soft and comfy Simon?

First, there are no horses by that name around here! AS you know I voted against themed competitions. With POTY the majority of competions have now become prescriptive. Along with experimental being merged into Open this leaves 2 print and 3 PDI competitons where I can enter my work. i'm not complaining. I was out voted. but I don't want to have to spend my time shooting to a 'brief'...as opposed to having an idea, creating the work and entering a range of competitions both inside and outside the Club.

I can't remember how I voted or indeed if I abstained (my memory doesnt't serve me well these days) but I do very much share Simon's concerns. I mistakenly thought we were possibly having 2 entries in the Open competition in lieu of absorbing the Experimental section. As Simon points out, what is currently being put forward only allows for 3 photos of your own choice in the Open competition. If 2 entiries per competition were allowed in the Open section then 8 images as opposed to only 3 would be under the control of the individual.
