History

Folkestone Camera Club began its long history in the year of 1906, and although the club had short breaks during the two world wars, it has had meetings continually since 1945.

At the end of the season 2023/24 the club decided to change its structure due to a significant reduction in the number of members.

For 2024/25 we will still be Folkestone Camera Club, but with he following differences:

    • We will be meeting 1/month in Barham village hall at 1000
    • There will be no competitions as we used to know them, but we will be self critiquing and discussing our images.
    • We will sort out the agenda 2 months in advance at our monthly meetings. We are open to suggestions
    • There is no charge for a trial period of 6 months ending 2-Feb 2025
    • We will display our images via a Flickr called FCC
    • We will communicate via a WhatsApp group called FCC
    • The web site is open for 4 more months from September, after which we will probably close it down as WhatsApp and Flickr will be the primary sources of communication
    • There are no officers of the club and all decisions will be made on a simple majority basis in the monthly meeting or via WhatsApp

If you wish to join then do the following:

  1. Email Simon Newlyn on simon.projects@gmail.com Simon will ensure you are added to the FCC WhatsApp group and will pass your email to the FCC Flickr group co-ordinator
  2. Make sure you have a free Flickr account. You will receive an email inviting you to join the FCC Flickr group. You should accept this and join the group
  3. Come along to the next meeting. The dates are 6-Oct, 3-Nov,  1-Dec, 5-Jan 2025 and 2-Feb 2025
